East-West Gateway Council of Governments (EWG) administers four competitive transportation funding programs (Competitive Programs) that provide federal transportation funding to local project sponsors for various transportation projects such as roadway and bridge improvements, transit capital projects, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, and mobility for seniors and persons with disabilities. These Competitive Programs include the Surface Transportation Program – Suballocated (STP-S), Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Improvement Program, the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP), and the Section 5310 – Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities (Section 5310) Program. To find other funding programs administered by our state and federal partners, go to Transportation Funding Sources from Other Agencies.
STP-S, CMAQ, TAP, and Section 5310 projects, like all federally funded transportation projects, are included in the Transportation Improvement Program that EWG develops for the St. Louis region.
