The St. Louis Fusion Center

The Saint Louis Fusion Center is a public safety partnership consisting of law enforcement, fire/emergency medical, public health, emergency management agencies, and private sector agencies to address the intelligence needs for combating terrorism and protecting critical infrastructure within the region.

Established in 2006, the Saint Louis Fusion Center provides a multi-jurisdictional, multi-disciplinary approach to the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information used to detect, defend against, or respond to acts of terrorism.
The Saint Louis Fusion Center works with government and private organizations to identify and protect the region’s critical infrastructure and key resources through the implementation of the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP).

The purpose of the Saint Louis Fusion Center is to improve prevention and response, and to ensure an appropriate exchange of information between investigative and response entities. This results in a highly coordinated and focused response to critical incidents and acts of terrorism based on careful assessment of information and intelligence and detailed planning.

A Note on Regional Cybersecurity

Recognizing that cyber-attacks are increasingly becoming a common attack method for hostile actors, the region has committed to strengthening the cybersecurity environment through the Cybersecurity Initiative.

Originating in 2018, the Cybersecurity Initiative addresses identified gaps and deficiencies in cybersecurity in the St. Louis region, helps identify vulnerable assets in the region’s IT infrastructure, and enhances the overall security posture while improving response mitigation, recovery, and resiliency to any major cyber-attack.

The Cybersecurity Initiative operates out of the Saint Louis Fusion Center under the direction of a Regional Cybersecurity Coordinator, who works closely with State and Federal cybersecurity specialists to conduct outreach and bring cyber training and exercises to the region. A primary focus of the Cybersecurity Initiative is the analysis and dissemination of cybersecurity related intelligence with critical infrastructure partners, other fusion centers, and law enforcement agencies in the region. Additionally, a Cyber Investigator conducts a variety of investigative support services in cybersecurity, cryptocurrency, and artificial intelligence spaces.
