MODIS Flood Data, April 2019

East-West Gateway’s April 2019 Map of the Month shows flood data collected over a three day period by the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Flood Mapping Project. Flood water is identified as water observations falling outside normal water levels. This data is collected by the twice daily overpass of the MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) instrument on the Terra and Aqua satellites.
