Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity

Equitable Energy Futures Grant Program – Application deadline: June 30, 2024
This program provides seed funding and pre-development funding opportunities to eligible contractors to support the development of renewal energy and energy efficiency projects benefitting businesses, community organizations, and the workforce in historicallydisadvantaged communities. Grants are designed to remove barriers to project, community, and business development caused by a lack of capital. For more information.

Community Solar Energy Sovereignty Grant Program – Application deadline: July 1, 2024
This program will provide grants to organizations to plan, develop, and execute community solar projects throughout Illinois. The program provides upfront capital to support the development of community solar projects and provides seed capital and pre-development funding to support community ownership of renewable energy projects. Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA)

Driving a Cleaner Illinois, Replacing Diesel School Buses – Application deadline: Rolling
Approximately $17.7 million is available from the Illinois Department of Environmental Protection for the replacement of diesel school buses with new, all-electric school buses. The funding is from the Volkswagen Beneficiary Mitigation Plan. Madison, Monroe, and St. Clair counties are priority areas for the funding. Eligible applicants include school districts that own their own buses and commercial school bus providers. For more information

Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT)

Missouri Bridge Engineering Assistance Program – Application deadline: Rolling
MoDOT is accepting applications for Bridge Engineering Assistance Program (BEAP) grants. BEAP grants provide funding to municipalities that do not have an engineering staff. Funding can be used to conduct a single study of the conditions of a bridge on roads not part of the MoDOT system. These services are intended to evaluate the operational or structural conditions on an existing bridge and are not intended for the development of detailed plans for new bridges. MoDOT provides a list of pre-qualified consultants to complete the study. Sponsors will be required to provide consultants with traffic control and equipment for load testing. For more information.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA)

Inflation Reduction Act Community Change Grant – Application deadline: Rolling
This grant supports environmental and climate justice activities to benefit disadvantaged communities through projects that reduce pollution, increase community climate resilience, and build community capacity to address environmental and climate justice challenges. These place-based investments will be focused on community-driven initiatives to be responsive to community and stakeholder input. Local governments, non-profits, and institutes of higher learning are eligible. For more information.

U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)

Safe Streets for All Opportunity – Application deadline: Thursday, May 16, 2024, 5:00 PM (EDT) and Thursday, August 29, 2024, 5:00 PM (EDT) *
These SS4A grants will be awarded on a competitive basis to support planning and demonstration activities, as well as projects and strategies to prevent death and serious injury on roads and streets involving all roadway users, including pedestrians; bicyclists; public transportation, personal conveyance, and micromobility users; motorists; and commercial vehicle operators. Municipal governments, independent school districts, counties, special districts, and public or state-controlled institutions of higher education are eligible to apply. For more information.
