Connected 2050

Connected 2050, the long-range transportation plan (LRTP) for the St. Louis region, establishes a project- and policy-based framework that will be implemented through a variety of short range transportation plans and programs. The policies established by the plan will guide EWG as it prioritizes funding for all modes of transportation— including roads, public transportation, freight, bicycle, pedestrian, and paratransit in the region over the next 26 years.

The current edition of the Long-Range Transportation Plan and the associated State of the System and the Air Quality Conformity Determination were adopted by EWG’s Board of Directors on June 28, 2023.

Transportation Equity Assessment

As part of the Connected 2050 planning process, a Transportation Equity Assessment was completed. This assessment examines how past investments and policy decisions created disparities in transportation outcomes today and proposes recommendations for making sure future dollars create the most benefit for everyone in our region. Performance Dashboard

Measuring and tracking the performance of the region’s transportation system is a fundamental component of the long-range transportation plan (LRTP) and the performance-based planning process. Performance measurement allows planners to assess the current state of the system to develop recommendations for improvements, evaluate the effectiveness of recently implemented improvements, and forecast the effectiveness of planned improvements.
